How do I set up two-factor authentication (2FA) for my account?

You can enable 2FA in your user account settings. You will need an authenticator app on your mobile phone to complete the setup.

Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account. Instead of just using your password (single-factor), 2FA requires a second verification step – usually a code from an authenticator app on your phone. This makes it much harder for unauthorised users to access your account.

To set up two-factor authentication (2FA)

  1. Sign in to your NQC account.
  2. Select your initials in the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Select 'Account settings'.
  4. Choose 'Account' from the dropdown menu and scroll to the 'Security' section.
  5. Select 'Enable two-factor authentication'.
  6. Enter your mobile phone number to link it to your authenticator app.
  7. Enter the verification code sent to your mobile number in the 'Enter the verification code' box.
  8. Select 'verify'.
  9. Open the authenticator app on your mobile phone and scan the QR code shown on the screen.
  10. Once linked, sign out of your NQC account (Select your initials in the top right corner of the screen and choose 'sign out').
  11. Go to the Sign in page and enter your username and password.
  12. You will be prompted to create and confirm a new 4-digit PIN.
  13. Enter the 6-digit code currently displayed in your authenticator app.
  14. Select 'Sign in'.
  15. For future logins, you will need to enter your 4-digit PIN and the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
