Exploring MAP Multi-Tier Traceability (Anonymous Mode)

Learn how to navigate a supplier-led mapped network where upstream suppliers have opted for data privacy. This guide demonstrates how our anonymous mode protects commercial interests while still allowing buyers to trace the origin of raw materials and product inputs.

Step-by-Step Guidance

Access the Pre-Loaded Anonymous Dataset

  • Sign in to the NQC UAT Sandbox environment and ensure you have selected your Buyer alias account.
  • On your Dashboard, navigate to the My questionnaires tab.
  • Locate the Supply Chain Mapper titled CHEM: Agricultural Fertiliser. (Use the Filter icon near the top right of the Dashboard to search by name if necessary).
  • Click the View supply chain option on the dashboard tile to open the detailed traceability screens.

Navigate the Anonymised Supply Chain Views

  • Use the drop down menu option at the top left of the screen to switch between the Component hierarchy and Component map views.

  • Review the nodes in your supply chain network. You will notice that while your direct Tier 1 suppliers are fully visible, all Tier 2 and upstream suppliers have been anonymised. Their entity names have been replaced with a hexadecimal code.

  • Note that the product and material names remain fully visible. This allows you as the buyer to understand exactly what is in your supply chain, even if you do not know who the specific upstream entity is.

Investigate Anonymised Suppliers

  • Click directly on any anonymised supplier node in the hierarchy or map to open its profile in the right-hand panel.

Sandbox Tip: Locate and select any anonymised Tier 2 node (displayed as a hexadecimal code). Review the right-hand side panel. You will see that the detailed organisational information is purposefully limited to protect the supplier's commercial network, demonstrating exactly what data is restricted when anonymous mode is active.

Why We Offer Visibility Modes

We operate dual visibility modes (Transparent and Anonymous) so that buyers and suppliers can mutually determine how they want to engage. If suppliers are concerned about disclosing commercially sensitive supply chain networks or being bypassed by their customers, they can confidently complete the data request while choosing to anonymise their upstream entity information.
